Walking Tall, kind of

I came across this tonight. My heart is flooded with sadness that my baby isn't so much a baby anymore. Although he pretends he is. He crawls into my arms and says, "Googoo Agoo." Yup, Parker Joe, that's what babies say. I came across this. Enjoy!

When Life Gives You Lemons... Make a Pie

I try not to be shy in the kitchen. If I like something, I'll find the recipe, and make it.
Well, courtesy of Megan Currey's grandmother, I had quite possibly the best lemon meringue pie (sans the meringue) on Saturday. It was a literally, a slice of heaven.
Since then, I can't get enough lemons. We had a fresh squeezed lemonade with dinner, and now we are prepared to ring in the 2009 with pie. My hands hurt so bad from squeezing lemons, but I'm sure it will be worth it.

Unlike my mother and the rest of the Saldivar clan, I would rather have homemade lemon pie. Not Jello!
It's sinful.

I hope everyone is surrounded by the friends and family that you love on New Year's Eve and throughout the upcoming year. If you are in need of a resolution, you can borrow mine - be a better person. However that may be. It wouldn't hurt to either if I was a skinnier better person.
Here's a toast to a New & Blessed Year!

To my family, I miss you all, and wish I was home playing games with you all. I miss you all so very much, but we will see each other very soon. XOXO

Suitcase Recliner

I'm so thankful that I haven't completely unpacked from our trip to TX. Although the clothes are put away, the smaller suitcase made for a good lounge area for Parker Joe and Elmo. He needed a little place to catch his breath from all of the dancing he and Elmo did.

Warm Day

Today Parker Joe and I went to the park for a little bit. It was beautiful outside (55 degrees) or by WV standards it was beautiful, until the cold wind started to blow. Unfortunately I had to cut our outing short, which made for an angry little boy. Although, we had to leave sooner than intended, we still had fun. His smile is my sunshine on a typical cold and cloudy West Virginia winter day.

Prayers Please

Our home is constantly filled with laughter, giggles, and just all around rowdiness! I, usually being the ringleader of the chaos, love it! In case you might not have known, Josh and I have been trying for 8 months to add to the chaos. Unfortunately, I am not expecting. I am on my first round of infertility medication to change that. This has definitely been a trial on my heart. I don't know who is going to read this, but I just ask that you take a quick second to say a quick prayer for our family. I have always wanted a large family, and sometimes I get down because I wanted Parker Joe to have a sibling close in age. A dear friend of mine told me, God's delay isn't God's denial. Those words have comforted me day in and day out. I want to experience the miracle of creating a life so badly, and I know that prayer can change that. Our Lord tells us to ask and it shall be given unto you, and believe me, I've asked. Now, I am humbly asking you to send a prayer up to our Lord on our behalf.

Laying it Out

I've decided since we are so far away from our friends and family, I wanted to create something so that they can stay in touch with us all. I'll let you become voyeurs in our lives. We're not a complicated family, but we do have a lot of fun, and we are always busy. I thoroughly enjoy looking at other people's family albums, so I assumed you probably do to. Although there aren't any pictures on our blog right now, there will be. Give it a little bit.

Now on to the good stuff...

In case you didn't know, we are officially West Virginians. That's right, we absolutely love it here. I honestly didn't think I would, but God had a little surprise in store for me. Josh works for Newpoint Gas Co. Midstream Division, and he works 5 days a week. For the most part, he's home by 5, and his schedule is ultra flexible. He always makes time to be with his family and to play a round of golf. He recently joined a band with his co-worker. I guess that makes me his groupie. He really enjoys it so far. I, work for, well, Josh. I stay home with Parker Joe. He just turned 2, and he is a HANDFUL!!! To say the least. Ask anyone, and they will surely back me up on that. I make sure we have clean socks and undies, and that there is dinner on the table by 7:00 -ish. Of course, I make sure that I get my Target fix at least 3-4 times a week. No, I don't always buy stuff, but I can look. And Parker Joe gets so excited when we get popcorn. We attend Bridgeport Church of Christ, where we have an awesome church family. We love them, and they love us. Unfortunately, we've made really really great friends. It's going to be so hard to leave when that day comes. Parker Joe is our 2 year old spitfire. He is so incredibly intelligent, it's scary! Too smart for his own good. We play, read, nap, and watch cartoons during the day. He remembers everyone and every place he's ever been. When we say our prayers at night, he does not leave a name out, and if we do, he reminds us. He talks in full sentences, and will tell you what he wants or doesn't want, and so forth.

Our life is full of daily chores, fun, and happiness, but we always have time for the One who gave us our breath, our Lord. He has blessed our family in so many aspects of our lives, and we are so very thankful for His love. Our Lord keeps us safe when we are cold in the dark. And now that we live in WV, being cold and in the dark happens more often!

We hope that his blog, finds everyone well and in good health. I will do my best to keep it up to date, and keep our family pictures readily available for your enjoyment!
